Whooville Fun Fotos

booboo

This is BooBoo

We don't have any close-by neighbors,
but BooBoo showed up on our back porch one winter day in 2006
when the roads were impassable due to snow.
We estimate he was around 6 weeks old.
He was cold, thin, hungry and foot sore - and only minutes ahead of a coyote pack.
He is terribly near-sighted but tries to be our "guard dog" anyway.

He is also known as "Satan",  "Ooo Boo Bubully Ooo",
"Dennis the Menace", "Prince of Darkness" and "BooBoo -- No".
He is well loved.

whoo

You never know what's just around the corner at Whooville.

wolf pup

The Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary is nearby.

The morning howl echoes around the valley.

This young pup didn't know
what to think of me in his pen.

slinky

Slinky joined us in the Spring of 2007
as one of Dream Eagle's companions.
We believe she has used up
at least 7 of her 9 lives.
woosta

This is Woosta and some of his ladies.

They were rescued from an
abandoned house during the winter.

mama hen

In June 2008, we built our chicken coop
and ordered some more chicks.
One of the hens had been acting "broody",
so we let her sit on three eggs
for 10 days before the chicks arrived.
The first night the chicks were here,
we removed the eggs from under the hen
and replaced them with the 26 chicks.
Its a good thing chickens can't count!
She's a great mom!

sunflowers

We live in a high-altitude, dry area,
so we use special methods to garden.
We used the principles of
"Rainwater  Harvesting",
"Gaia's Garden",
and "The Forest Garden"
and had a great garden in 2007.

We sold  produce at the
Ramah's Farmer's Market all summer long.
