Whooville
Open House
On Sunday, August, 5, 2007, the Whooville Artist Collective held their
first Open House.
Tours of our newly constructed (but not quite completed) homes and
our water-efficient vegetable and "forest " gardens
were enjoyed by the many guests. The highlight of the day,
however, was the opening of the kiln with its treasures inside.
Here are some of the pieces I offered at my home and out of the kiln.
It was a great day!!
These are some of my "Toad Houses".
Toad houses are put in your garden to encourage toads to live
there.
Toads eat the insects that can hurt your tender
plants.

This
is my "Gnome House" village.
In addition to providing needed shelter for gnomes,
(who are rarely seen),
gnome houses can serve as candle holders.
My gnome houses are also designed
to hold your favorite scented oil in
the top of the chimney,
so when you light a candle inside,
the scent is
diffused around the room.
The butterfly "gazebo" in the center of the village
is large enough to hold a pillar candle.

I had a whole herd of petroglyph ponies
on my unfinished frontroom wall.
Their manes and tails were blowing in the breeze
from the ceiling fan.

My favorite piece right now is this Phoenix.
It measures 20" wide by 24" high.
I discovered transparent glass paint works well on glazed surfaces.
This combination of finishes gives the piece a greater depth and
intensity of color.
This is my just-for-fun Fish Cage.
This is my Fire Spirit wall hanging.
Most of the houses and ponies on this page were either sold at our Open
House
or are now offered for sale at the Ghost Town Trading
Company in Albuquerque, NM.
I haven't decided yet if I will sell the Phoenix.
